Trying to figure out what the North of Thailand has to offer? A bit worried that everything you may want to do is out of your price range? Don't be! We can take you on a variety of outings; ranging from day trips to more extended overnight excursions that won't leave your travel budget deflated. Just decide what you want to see, and we can figure out how to make it happen. Below are some of the popular activities our guests choose to engage in...
Bamboo Rafting: Enjoy a half-day float down the close-by Wang River on a local made bamboo raft. You can chose to hire a guide or navigate yourself if you are feeling a bit adventuresome. Have lunch by the river after and cool off in a swimming hole. Elephant Visit and Riding:
Along the banks of the Wang River there are several services that provide opportunities to intimately visit with and ride elephants. You will get to go on a 30-minute walking tour on an elephant's back and even wash your new friend in the river afterward. Mountain Trekking:
We are located just over an hour from Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in Thailand (2,565 meters). A very nice nature trail (3.5 km long) winds through the park's unique cloud forest ecosystem, which covers less than 0.3% of the earth's landmass. You can go on a day hike through the national park, or even camp and stay the night if you wish. Visit Local Markets:
There are numerous nearby markets in Mae Wang and Chiang Mai that vary in size and what they offer. There are markets to visit most days of the week; you can visit a market frequented by tourists, or more traditional Thai markets if you wish. We are happy to facilitate communication between you and vendors if need be. Just Relax!
Why not? You are travelling after all; a great opportunity to simply take a breath, enjoy a cup of coffee or coco, and dig into a good book. The guesthouse is a great place to simply be. |
